Panel Builder / Electrical Design Engineer

Are you an experienced Panel Builder who can also deliver electrical design? This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on engineer to join a dynamic organisation where your skills will make a real impact.
We are seeking a Panel Designer & Builder with 5-15 years of experience (more experienced candidates are also encouraged to apply) who can manage the full lifecycle‑from designing large‑scale electrical panels to building and testing them on site.
What You’ll Be Doing
Panel Building (70%)
- Build and test large control panels (up to 2m high) in‑house
- Connect electrical equipment, test cables, and update drawings/documentation
- Organise transport of equipment and panels to/from sites
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workshop
Electrical Design (30%)
- Create and update electrical drawings (EPLAN experience preferred)
- Support documentation and design improvements
Additional Responsibilities (10%)
- Purchase and track equipment for projects
- Liaise with suppliers and manage missing orders
- Travel occasionally (approx. 20%, UK and abroad) for installations and testing
- Opportunity to do overtime
About You
- 5-15+ years' experience in panel building and electrical design (20+ years also welcome)
- Skilled in both hands‑on panel assembly and creating electrical schematics
- Comfortable working with various voltages (24V AC/DC; 240V AC; 415V AC)
- Familiar with EPLAN or similar CAD tools (training can be considered)
- Knowledge of conveyor or robotic systems is an advantage
- PLC/HMI programming exposure (Siemens/Allen Bradley) is a plus
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Able to travel for site work when required
