Quality Engineer – Bournemouth – £35,000 to £45,000

This Quality Engineer role supports the Quality Manager in maintaining and improving the Quality Management Systems across AS9100, ISO 14001 and NADCAP. You’ll be involved in day‑to‑day quality activity, helping ensure product and process conformity across the business. This is a precision engineering and manufacturing business based in Bournemouth, supplying into regulated sectors where quality, compliance and traceability are critical. The environment is practical, quality‑driven and well suited to someone who enjoys being involved across both shop floor and systems‑level quality.
As a Quality Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting audits, managing non‑conformances, assisting with FAIRs and contributing to continuous improvement activities. You’ll work closely with production, inspection and operations to ensure standards are met and maintained.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities of a Quality Engineer
- Support the Quality Manager with maintaining and improving the QMS
- Assist with AS9100, ISO 14001 and NADCAP compliance
- Support internal, supplier and customer audits
- Assist with NCR activity, root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Support FAIR documentation to AS9102 requirements
- Assist with supplier quality and performance monitoring
- Work with production and inspection to support on‑time delivery
- Provide day‑to‑day quality support across departments
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects
- Support training and mentoring on quality standards
What They’re Looking For
- Experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Technician
- Background in precision engineering or manufacturing
- Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 14001 and NADCAP
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Experience with root cause analysis and problem solving
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Able to work across teams in a hands‑on environment
Desirable
- NADCAP audit experience
- Knowledge of welding, fabrication or CNC machining

- 39‑hour working week with early finish on Fridays
- Core hours:Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30Friday: 07:30 – 12:30Flexible start times (06:30 or 07:00)
