Field Service Engineer (058jc) – Derby with International Travel – up to £40k + Benefits
Are you a technically skilled military engineer ready to deploy your expertise in a civilian role where precision, discipline and professionalism genuinely matter?
My client is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain and support specialist medical equipment across the UK and overseas. This role is ideally suited to former Royal Signals personnel, RAF engineers, Royal Navy weapons/electronics engineers, or REME technicians looking to transition into a high-specification, safety‑critical engineering environment.
If you are used to working on complex electronic systems, operating to strict procedures, and delivering under pressure this is a natural next step.
You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and fault diagnosis of specialist medical systems used in clinical environments.
This is a front‑line technical role customer‑facing, autonomous, and requiring the highest professional standards.
You will represent the company on‑site, often working independently, applying structured fault‑finding skills and disciplined engineering practice developed through military service as well as full training by the client on their equipment.
You’ll be moving from maintaining operational capability to supporting life‑saving clinical capability.
All of these strengths are embedded in military training.
You will receive structured product training and ongoing technical development to support your transition into the medical engineering sector and they want the individual to be in place by June 2026.
In return they are offering an excellent starting salary of up to £40k, with company pension, 28 days holiday + bank holidays, and they are looking to add more benefits at the moment. All accommodation and travel costs will also be covered by the company when required.
