Position Overview

As an Engine Preparation Engineer you will need to have both outstanding customer focus coupled with in depth knowledge of diesel engines. You will possess the ability to carry out pre delivery inspections on new engines to customer specification using our engine preparation order in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner, utilising a combination of the most up to date dealer software, traditional preparation techniques and the fitment of 3rd party supplied parts. This role will place you in the very best environment to display your current engineering ability while acquiring new dealer level skills working on the Caterpillar Engine Range of products.

Job Description

A Day in the life of a Finning Engine Preparation Engineer can involve pre delivery inspections and customisations across the Caterpillar range of engines. This is fast paced with fixed deadlines to meet customer demands. Due to this the required work schedule can often change and the successful candidate will need to be flexible and reactive.

Qualifications

Qualifications ranging from NVQ, City and Guilds or similar in mechanical engineering, with demonstratable skills and experience working with industrial engines or plant and heavy vehicles will be considered.

Formally apprentice trained considered.
