Overview

As a Lead Controls SI Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and executing control system projects from concept through commissioning. Working closely with project teams, you’ll transform user requirements into robust, streamlined control solutions, integrating PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems. This role offers a blend of office and site-based work, providing the perfect balance of technical challenge and field influence in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a controls systems engineer, from PLC programming to site-wide integrations
  • Proficiency in PLC & HMI software development using at least two platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Schneider)
  • Strong understanding of communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS DP/PA, and Modbus TCP/IP
  • Hands‑on experience with SCADA systems and Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
  • Solid knowledge of electrical safety standards and safe working practices
  • Excellent project management and teamwork abilities

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience with additional control platforms or software development tools
  • Knowledge of network security best practices in control system environments
  • Previous experience working on water, power, energy, or industrial projects
  • Certifications related to electrical safety or control systems

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems engineering, ideally in industrial or infrastructure projects

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel to site locations as needed for commissioning and support
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to manage workload and mentor junior engineers
  • Commitment to health and safety standards in all work environments
