About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to support a range of construction projects. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions, from initial design through to project completion, ensuring full compliance with client requirements and relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical engineering design calculations and produce drawings and specifications
- Assist in the preparation of tender documentation
- Design, programme, and supervise projects with minimal supervision
- Oversee heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) installations
- Supervise on-site works and manage contractors
- Monitor and direct Clerks of Works and Inspectors as required
- Liaise effectively with client representatives and stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to contract documentation and quality standards
- Prepare cost estimates from pre-contract stage through to final account agreement
- Comply with all organisational procedures, financial regulations, and standing orders
- Represent the organisation professionally, maintaining its reputation and profile
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience across all areas of mechanical engineering design
- Proficient in IT systems and AutoCAD (essential)
- Ability to manage projects independently and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic
Qualifications & Experience
- HND/HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years' post‑qualification experience
- Proven track record in construction management
- Experience managing contracts and contractors
- Demonstrated high‑level technical expertise within the construction industry
Additional Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
