Job Title: Automatic Gate & Barrier Call-Out / Service Engineer

Salary: £42,000 – £45,000 per year

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Field-based (South East – Sussex, Surrey, Kent)

About the Role

An established and growing access solutions provider is seeking an experienced Automatic Gate & Barrier Service Engineer. The business delivers installation, maintenance, and repair services for residential, educational, and commercial clients, with a strong focus on customer service and long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance on automatic gates, barriers, and access control systems
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs on automated systems
  • Service and maintain gate and barrier equipment
  • Attend call-outs and complete reactive repairsConduct force testing and risk assessments
  • Complete safety reports and documentation
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting and problem-solving

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience servicing gates and barriers
  • Experience with gate automation systems such as: BFT, BPT, CAME, DEA, FAAC, FADINI, GIBIDI, NICE, AES, VIDEX, TELGUARD
  • Welding experience (desirable but not essential)
  • DHF or Gate Safe qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and fault-finding skills

Candidate Profile

  • Proficient in servicing, maintaining, and repairing automated gate systems
  • Able to read and follow technical manuals and program control boards
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Good communication and customer service abilities
  • Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
