Job Title: Automatic Gate & Barrier Call-Out / Service Engineer
Salary: £42,000 – £45,000 per year

Location: Field-based (South East – Sussex, Surrey, Kent)
About the Role
An established and growing access solutions provider is seeking an experienced Automatic Gate & Barrier Service Engineer. The business delivers installation, maintenance, and repair services for residential, educational, and commercial clients, with a strong focus on customer service and long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance on automatic gates, barriers, and access control systems
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on automated systems
- Service and maintain gate and barrier equipment
- Attend call-outs and complete reactive repairsConduct force testing and risk assessments
- Complete safety reports and documentation
- Perform on-site troubleshooting and problem-solving
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience servicing gates and barriers
- Experience with gate automation systems such as: BFT, BPT, CAME, DEA, FAAC, FADINI, GIBIDI, NICE, AES, VIDEX, TELGUARD
- Welding experience (desirable but not essential)
- DHF or Gate Safe qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and fault-finding skills
Candidate Profile
- Proficient in servicing, maintaining, and repairing automated gate systems
- Able to read and follow technical manuals and program control boards
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Good communication and customer service abilities
- Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
