Production Engineer

We are working with a respected client in Rochdale who are recruiting for a Production Engineer due to expansion to support function to all areas of production.
The Job
- CAD knowledge (Solidworks)
- Experience of 4 and 5‑axis machining techniques
- Experience of CNC Lathes
- Execution of manufacturing engineering tasks to deadlines
- Creation of process specifications
- Support the department with routings, BOMs, production orders, costings
- Knowledge of ERP systems preferably SAP
- Provide support and expertise to optimise and improve process capability and yield
- Ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders e.g., purchasing, engineering, group etc
About you
- Experience of working in a technical/engineering environment – medium to heavy engineering
- Experience, knowledge of hard surface welding methods.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- SolidWorks 3D modelling
- Project management skills
- Creating BOMs and routings
- Preparation of costings for intercompany production
- Lean principles, waste reduction, efficiency improvements, process flow, etc
- Formal technical qualification – craft/technician level machining‑biased apprenticeship up to HNC/HND level in mechanical/production engineering
