A leading UK-based technology business, working at the forefront of precision instrumentation and acoustics, is looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to join its high-performing engineering team. This is a role for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems and building robust, reliable hardware that performs in demanding environments.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the design and development of mixed-signal electronics for high-precision systems
- Creating robust analogue and digital circuits, including filters, amplifiers, power supplies, and ADCs
- Working with microcontrollers (and ideally some FPGA exposure) to bring designs to life
- Taking ownership of design documentation, test planning, and PCB schematics/layouts
- Collaborating with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to integrate solutions
- Getting hands-on with prototyping, soldering, and PCB assembly (training provided if needed)
- Supporting the transition from design to manufacture
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- A strong background in analogue and digital circuit design
- Practical experience with embedded systems (Assembler/C/C++)
- Familiarity with interfaces like I2C, SPI, UART
- Proficiency in PCB layout tools (OrCAD or similar)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- UK passport holder eligible for SC clearance (non-dual nationality)
Nice-to-Haves:
- Exposure to FPGA design and HDL
- Understanding of power supply tech and signal integrity
- Experience with Linux environments
- An interest in acoustics or environmental instrumentation
Qualifications
- Degree (2:1 or above) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
