About the role: We’re seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of contracts within our sector. You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are on track financially, ensure smooth operations, and deliver measurable value.
Location: Leeds
What we will expect from you:
- Build working relationships with supply chain, consultants, and clients where appropriate
- Procurement of sub-contractors in line with target programme and company policy
- Contract administration of sub-contracts
- Timely and accurate assessment and payment of sub-contractors’ applications and issue of payment notifications to sub-contractor
- Preparation and submission of external valuations in a timely manner to align with the contract requirements
- Management and accurate forecasting of the external valuations through to the final account agreement with our Clients
- Measurement of quantities both on site and from drawings, where required
- Timely and accurate evaluation of variations/provisional sum expenditure and monitoring of the same
- Civils - Weekly direct labour & plant subcontractor payments if required
- Accurate production of internal valuations, sub-contract liabilities and cost value reconciliations in line with the Commercial reporting timetable
- Ensure good quality & accurate records are maintained
- Delay identification/notification/ in tandem with project team
- Effective change management in line with contract
- Manage and minimise non recoverable costs on projects
- Price and effectively agree all project variations

Qualifications:
- Relevant HND, Degree in Quantity Surveying, Built environment or equivalent, desirable
- Minimum of three years’ experience working on projects within construction sector
- Working knowledge of contract conditions such as NEC,JCT
- Proficient in the use of MS Office
- Valid Driving licence
