Managing Quantity Surveyor
A House Builder seeks to appoint a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team to provide effective commercial management and control of housing developments. The role is varied and deadline‑driven, requiring excellent management, prioritisation and organisational skills. A confident communicator, proficient with Microsoft packages and ideally with experience in a similar role or environment is essential. This is primarily a site‑based role.

A regional developer specialising in new‑build private developments across the North West Region, with properties ranging from affordable homes to luxury family homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the financial and contractual administration of one or more projects and manage the surveying team, ensuring quality of work at all times.
- Provide accurate, real‑time, quarterly cost‑value reconciliations and final outcome forecasts.
- Carry out tender analysis, subcontractor and materials procurement, management and payment of subcontractor accounts.
- Attend and contribute cost input at monthly site meetings, agreeing strategies to deliver the project.
- Value engineer projects and suggest delivery solutions to ensure cost‑effective project delivery.
- Provide financial information to senior management as required to assist in financial planning.
- Help the company achieve targets set in the agreed business plan.
- Administer projects in line with applicable contract terms and statutory legislation.
- Maximise margin and minimise exposure to risk.
Experience and Skills Required
- Thorough understanding of quantity surveying within housing developments.
- Thorough understanding of financial reporting, contractual terms & conditions and statutory requirements.
- Good analytical skills with the ability to apply common sense in all situations.
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Customer‑ and delivery‑focused attitude.
