Join Tetra Tech and work on major UK water frameworks delivering innovative, sustainable solutions at scale.
As a Civil Design Engineer (Water), you will play a key role in delivering wastewater and clean water network projects across major long‑term UK frameworks, including a flagship programme with United Utilities. Working within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, modellers and data specialists, you will contribute to optioneering, outline and detailed design, and the production of construction‑ready documentation. The role spans the full project lifecycle, supporting asset management strategies and capital delivery projects that drive improved river health, operational performance and environmental outcomes.
You will directly influence the delivery of critical water infrastructure, helping to improve resilience, sustainability and service for communities across the UK. Your designs and technical input will support low‑carbon, best‑value solutions, while your collaboration with clients and stakeholders will ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively. You will also contribute to developing future talent through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with experience in water infrastructure projects. Working towards or holding membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIWEM, IET, InstMC) is desirable. Knowledge of UK water industry codes and standards is essential.
This role is ideally based in the North West, with flexibility for other UK locations. Hybrid working is supported, typically combining office collaboration with home working. You will work across long‑term national frameworks, with opportunities for career progression, professional development and involvement in high‑impact projects.
