Overview
Senior Electrical Engineer • Location: Leeds. My client is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their expanding Building Services team in Leeds. They are an industry leader with over 1,500 employees around the UK. This is a key appointment at an exciting stage of development. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the team, leading projects, and mentoring junior engineers, while delivering high-quality design solutions across a diverse portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer seeking the next step in their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking consultancy.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services across a wide range of projects, from large-scale developments to smaller, technically complex schemes.
- Education (primary and secondary schools, £15m+)
- Commercial offices (£30-40m developments)
- Healthcare facilities, including hospitals and specialist centres
- Hotels, logistics, and mixed-use developments
- Lead electrical design from concept through to completion
- Manage and coordinate internal and external project teams
- Produce and review detailed calculations, specifications, and drawings
- Act as a key client contact and lead project meetings
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors
- Ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and health & safety requirements
- Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates
- Contribute to sustainable design, focusing on energy efficiency and carbon reduction
