Multi‑Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) – York – £55,000

I'm working with a leading process manufacturing business near York who are looking to strengthen their maintenance team with an experienced Multi‑Skilled Engineer. This is a well‑invested, technically demanding site operating under stringent regulatory requirements and they need a confident, hands‑on engineer who can work across both electrical and mechanical disciplines without close supervision.
What the role involves
- Fault‑finding and maintenance on PLC‑controlled systems and relay logic circuits
- Maintenance of fluid‑transfer pumps including centrifugal and progressing cavity types
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs and engineering drawings
- Working within a regulated environment (LOTO, PUWER and LOLER) compliance throughout
- Planned and reactive maintenance, permit to work, safe isolation
- Use of CMMS systems for maintenance records and scheduling
- Welding, fabrication and IPAF 3B work where applicable
Qualifications and Experience
- NVQ Level 3 (minimum) in electrical and/or mechanical engineering, or time‑served equivalent
- Strong PLC fault‑finding ability and relay logic knowledge
- Hands‑on experience with fluid‑transfer pump technology
- Solid working knowledge of LOTO, PUWER and LOLER
- IPAF 3B licence and welding/fabrication skills — advantageous
- Good IT literacy and familiarity with CMMS platforms
