We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery of our Wales & Western Stations and Buildings Work Contract for CP7 (2024–2029). This is a pivotal role on a framework that covers station buildings, canopies, platforms, depots, car parks and other key rail infrastructure assets.
Octavius is a leading UK civil engineering and transport infrastructure business, with over 700 employees delivering high‑quality Rail and Highways projects across the country. We're proud of our people, our culture and our vision to be the UK's most respected provider of transport infrastructure. As a tier‑one contractor, we deliver diverse and meaningful projects — from AFA schemes and new stations to link roads and bypasses — with a focus on safety, sustainability and community impact. As our business continues to grow, we're building commercial teams that will support our expanding pipeline of work — creating real opportunities for you to develop your career in a business investing for the long term.
In this role, you will take ownership of the commercial management of a portfolio of projects worth approximately £10 million annually, covering a range of maintenance and renewals activities across the Wales & Western region.
You’ll typically spend one day a week in our Bristol office and one day in Swindon, with additional travel to sites across the region as required. Home working will vary depending on project needs, and you'll have the autonomy to manage your diary in a way that supports both delivery and your wellbeing.
To make an immediate impact, you'll already be an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor with NEC experience in a Rail environment. Knowledge of the Wales & Western region is an advantage.
We offer a competitive rewards package including a company car or car allowance, Private Healthcare, Pension, Life Assurance, and 25 days Annual Leave (plus a day off for your birthday). You'll also benefit from hybrid working, enhanced Paternity & Maternity leave and the opportunity to continue your personal and professional development within a supportive team.
If you're an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor looking for a role with genuine influence, variety and long‑term career potential, we’d love to hear from you — apply now.
