Role: Overhaul & Repair Engineer Apprentice

Location: Clarke Energy – Knowsley

Employment: Full-time Apprenticeship (4 years) with fully funded qualifications and hands-on engineering experience. Earn while you learn and build a long-term technical career.

We are looking for the next generation of Overhaul & Repair Engineers through our industry-leading Apprenticeship Programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global power solutions business, work with world-class gas engines, and receive exceptional training.

What You’ll Be Doing

Across the four-year programme, you will gain the following:

• Year 1 – Foundations: One day a week study towards Level 2 & Level 3 Engineering Technician; Clarke Energy induction and overhaul & repair skills; CSCS card; Company laptop and phone
• Year 2 – Technical Growth: Department rotation; mechanical assignments and coursework; Mechanical Rebuild training – Jenbacher type 3 engine; one day a week at college for Level 3; hands-on overhaul and repair experience
• Year 3 – Advanced Skills: Jenbacher assignments and coursework; Mechanical Rebuild training – Jenbacher type 4 engine; increased responsibility on overhaul projects; progression towards HNC (optional)
• Year 4 – Professional Readiness: Electrical installation work and engine re-wire experience; 3-month field service placement; Mechanical Rebuild training – Jenbacher Type 6/24 engine; Low Voltage course; final sign-off and Apprenticeship Presentation

What We’re Looking For

• A genuine interest in mechanical engineering
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Motivation to learn, develop, and grow within Clarke Energy
• 5 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above), including Maths, English, and at least one Science
• Full driving licence or undertaking driving lessons to have a full driving licence within the first 6 months
