Job Title: Small Works Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Location: Exeter (Office-Based)

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience

About the Role

Our client, a growing and well-established contractor, is looking for a Small Works Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team in Exeter. This role suits someone who enjoys variety and pace. You will manage the full commercial and estimating lifecycle on fast-moving small works, fit-out, and refurbishment projects, typically valued up to £2m.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate tenders, cost estimates, and pricing from drawings and specifications
• Manage the full QS lifecycle including interim valuations, variations, cost control, and final accounts
• Procure subcontractors and manage subcontractor accounts
• Produce regular cost reports and forecasts to ensure projects remain profitable
• Work closely with site teams and clients on fast-track schemes

About You

• Background in small works, fit-out, refurbishment, or similar fast-paced environments
• Experience in both estimating and quantity surveying
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously in a busy team
• Good knowledge of JCT contracts is advantageous
