Overview
Service Engineer - Compressed Air & Gas Systems – Bedford. Full Time, Permanent - Monday to Friday (Days). Salary £35,000 - £40,000 per annum. 25 days holiday + bank holidays, Private Medical Insurance, Pension Scheme.
Our client, a well-established engineering service provider, is seeking a Service Engineer to support the maintenance, servicing and installation of compressed air and gas generation systems across a range of industrial environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically and electrically skilled engineer to join a business offering varied work, strong support and ongoing development.
Responsibilities
- Service and commissioning of industrial equipment including dryers, chillers and gas generation systems
- Maintenance and repair of compressed air systems and associated equipment
- Fault finding, diagnosis and technical investigation across a range of plant
- Installation and upgrade work on customer sites
- Supporting wider engineering teams across the UK when required
- Providing clear technical feedback and updates to customers
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company and safety standards
This is a field-based role, covering Bedford and surrounding regions.
What We're Looking For
- Essential:
- Mechanical and electrical engineering experience
- Proven service / maintenance background
- Strong fault finding and problem-solving ability
- Experience working on industrial equipment
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role
- Full UK driving licence
- Desirable:
- Experience with compressed air, refrigeration or gas systems (e.g. compressors, dryers, chillers, nitrogen or hydrogen systems)
- Engineering qualification or apprenticeship
- Experience using service reporting systems or Office-based tools
