Overview

My client is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer for an initial 3 month contract for work in London. The candidate should as default work from our office at least 3 days a week, but this can be negotiated depending on the candidate.

The tasks will cover both traditional offshore site characterization work and support to jack-up activities under my clientsguidelines and QA/QC:

  • Review of leg penetration and spudcan-quay wall interaction analyses provided by consultants; review of leg penetration analysis and vessel suitability; High level jack-up installation assessment using in-house tools and methods.
  • Other potential ad-hoc tacks:
    • supporting scoping, planning and operations for geotechnical site investigations and laboratory testing
    • analysing and interpreting large geotechnical datasets to deliver high-quality site characterisations and engineering soil/rock properties for design and installation assessments
    • supporting engineering assessments for jack-up installations
    • other tasks aligned with the competencies above and support offshore wind farm site characterisation and related engineering activities.

Key competencies

  • have proven experience in offshore site characterisation and analyses of in situ data and laboratory test results
  • have in-depth experience with planning, scoping and execution of offshore geotechnical site investigations, including operational and in situ techniques
  • have in-depth experience with Leg Penetration Analyses and engineering assessments applicable to jack-up installations
  • have proven experience with processing and validating geotechnical data, including AGS data handling and with writing Geotechnical Interpretation Reports (GIRs)
  • have knowledge of the geotechnical input required for foundation and cable design, installation constraints and understanding of the interfaces with different engineering teams
  • have a high degree of personal responsibility and accountability and capable of working with different tasks in parallel
  • have strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills and enjoy working closely with colleagues and project teams.
  • must be able to speak and write English fluently
  • much be result oriented
