Electronics Hardware Design Engineer
Location: Abingdon • Salary: £40,000-£50,000
Overview
Electronics Hardware Design Engineer required for an automatic test equipment company based in Abingdon. You will report directly to the Technical Manager, and your main responsibilities will be the design and development of Digital and Analogue circuits. Your technical input will require you to have a good level of understanding of electronic hardware and embedded software principles.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Design and develop Digital and Analogue electronic circuits.
- Develop embedded software.
- Use 16/32‑bit microcontrollers (PIC, MSP430, Cortex).
- Apply Op Amp and oscillator circuit design.
- Implement low‑noise design techniques.
- Utilize ADCs (16‑24 bit).
- Use schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
- Apply electro‑mechanical principles involving motors, actuators and sensors.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in designing Digital and Analogue electronic circuits.
- Proficiency in embedded software development.
- Experience with 16/32‑bit microcontrollers (PIC, MSP430, Cortex).
- Knowledge of Op Amp and oscillator circuit design.
- Understanding of low‑noise design techniques.
- Experience with ADCs (16‑24 bit).
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
- Knowledge of electro‑mechanical principles (motors, actuators, sensors).
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and programming in Ladder Logic or Structured Text.
- Knowledge of control systems engineering.
- Experience with LabVIEW software and hardware within the National Instruments ecosystem.
- Understanding of test & measurement principles.
- Championing initiatives to reduce carbon and manufacturing costs.
