About The Role
The HR Operations Manager is responsible for the hands‑on delivery and continuous improvement of all core HR processes across the business. This role ensures that HR activity is executed efficiently, consistently, and at pace to support business performance and growth. Working closely with the Head of HR, this role focuses on operational excellence, ensuring recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance processes are delivered to a high standard across all locations. This role is critical in strengthening the operational delivery of HR across the business. By focusing on execution, consistency, and team capability, the HR Operations Manager will enable the HR function to operate efficiently and support ongoing business growth.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Delivery
- Deliver all core HR processes with accuracy, consistency, and pace
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contractual changes, payroll inputs, benefits, and leavers
- Maintain high standards of HR systems, documentation, and compliance with employment law and GDPR
Employee Relations & Performance
- Manage day‑to‑day employee relations cases fairly and legally
- Support managers with performance management and underperformance issues
- Embed a consistent performance management framework with clear documentation and risk control
Team Leadership
- Line manage and develop the HR Advisor
- Allocate workload effectively and build operational HR capability through coaching and support
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a trusted HR partner to senior leaders and managers
- Provide clear, pragmatic, commercially focused HR advice
- Support engagement and high‑performance culture across the business
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Improve HR processes to increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability
- Use HR data to identify trends and drive improvements
- Benchmark HR practices and support initiatives that enhance engagement, retention, and performance
Requirements
- Approx. 5 years HR experience (with CIPD level 5 or equivalent experience)
- Data‑driven, with strong reporting and analytical capability
- Background in a multi‑site retail or luxury environment is highly desirable
- Strong hands‑on experience
- Experience managing or mentoring HR team members
- Able to deliver HR processes at pace in a fast‑moving business
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
