Health and Safety Manager
Location: Aylesford, Kent
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 DOE
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (7:00-4:00 or 8:00-5:00)
Work Pattern: Fully onsite
Responsibilities
- Champion a proactive Health & Safety culture across the site.
- Lead risk assessments, audits and ongoing compliance with legislation and internal standards.
- Review incidents, ensure corrective actions are completed, and implement long‑term preventative improvements.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
- Plan and facilitate Lean events, process mapping and standardised work.
- Train and coach teams on Lean tools and safe working practices.
- Create and manage systems for recording improvement ideas and supporting business cases.
- Carry out regular shop‑floor reviews to ensure standards, processes and housekeeping are maintained.
About You
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is essential.
- Proven experience delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lean Manufacturing experience is essential; Six Sigma qualification is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable success in implementing change in an operational environment.
- Strong communicator able to engage positively with shop‑floor teams and senior leaders.
- Organised, analytical, and committed to operational excellence.
- Manufacturing experience preferred but not essential if core requirements are met.
