Health and Safety Manager

Location: Aylesford, Kent

Salary: £38,000 – £45,000 DOE

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (7:00-4:00 or 8:00-5:00)

Work Pattern: Fully onsite

Responsibilities

• Champion a proactive Health & Safety culture across the site.
• Lead risk assessments, audits and ongoing compliance with legislation and internal standards.
• Review incidents, ensure corrective actions are completed, and implement long‑term preventative improvements.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
• Plan and facilitate Lean events, process mapping and standardised work.
• Train and coach teams on Lean tools and safe working practices.
• Create and manage systems for recording improvement ideas and supporting business cases.
• Carry out regular shop‑floor reviews to ensure standards, processes and housekeeping are maintained.

About You

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is essential.
• Proven experience delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lean Manufacturing experience is essential; Six Sigma qualification is highly desirable.
• Demonstrable success in implementing change in an operational environment.
• Strong communicator able to engage positively with shop‑floor teams and senior leaders.
• Organised, analytical, and committed to operational excellence.
• Manufacturing experience preferred but not essential if core requirements are met.
