Overview

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Biomedical Scientist Manager with management experience in laboratory sciences to lead our Blood Sciences team in the laboratory at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor.

The successful candidate will have an open mind, collaborative approach and a focus on quality and service delivery, with the interpersonal skills to lead a friendly, highly skilled team through change, improvement and innovation. HCPC registered Senior Scientist or experienced BMS Manager will be considered for the role, offering a supportive and innovative service in North Wales.

Main duties

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are welcome to apply.

  • Lead service delivery, performance and development for the Blood Sciences service on the West site as part of a 3-site directorate delivering 24/7 Blood Sciences Services.
  • Work closely with East and West site managers, service leads, senior scientists and the Quality & Governance team to continue modernization and continuous service improvement.

Person specification

Qualifications And/Or Knowledge

  • HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist with Masters Degree or equivalent experience
  • Significant relevant experience in a managerial post
  • Up to date with current issues related to blood sciences practice
  • Leadership training or equivalent experience

Desirable qualifications

  • Post-graduate management qualification
  • Teaching or coaching qualification
