Overview

The Department of Land Economy is a leader in its field.

In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework assessment, 67% of the Department’s research was found to be ‘World Leading’ and a further 31% ‘Internationally Excellent’, making it the top Department in the field in the UK in Times Higher Education’s ranking.

Responsibilities

• Undertake research in public law broadly defined, public law and policy, and/or constitutional and administrative law of the United Kingdom (which may include planning law as a subsidiary interest), of a quality that accords with the Department’s standards.
• Identify sources of funding for such research and expand the network of contacts working in those areas.
• Teach on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in areas related to the expertise.
• Make a general contribution to the running and management of the Department.
• Develop a research profile that connects to other aspects of the Department’s work, such as migration or planning (desirable but not essential).
