Assistant Management Accountant
Salary: Up to £34,000Location: North Birmingham (Hybrid working)
An established organisation based in North Birmingham is seeking an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join its finance team. This is a broad, hands‑on role offering strong exposure across month‑end accounting, reporting, compliance and continuous improvement within a collaborative finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly accruals, prepayments, journals, cost allocations and reconciliations
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Support and delivery of month‑end close activities
- Management of multiple bank accounts, including weekly bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting
- Support with foreign currency transactions
- Preparation and support for statutory and regulatory submissions, including VAT returns, P11Ds and other required filings
- Reporting and analysis
- Support the wider Finance team during audit cycles
About You
- AAT qualified
- Relevant accounting or finance experience
- Able to work proactively and independently, as well as collaboratively within a team
- Comfortable taking ownership of tasks with a high level of complexity
- Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
