Children’s Residential Deputy Manager
Location: Lytham | Salary: £40,777 – £46,142 per annum | Permanent, Full Time 37 Hours Per Week
International Sponsorship: This role is not open to international sponsorship.
We are recruiting Deputy Manager roles within Lancashire County Council’s Residential Children’s Services, part of the “Where Our Children Live” programme. This initiative focuses on safe, supportive homes across Lancashire. The role is for experienced Assistant Managers seeking the next step.
Deputy Managers work core hours (Mon–Fri, 7am–7pm), providing leadership, supervision and guidance to Senior and Residential Childcare Workers. Posts are available in various settings including small children’s homes, a specialist home for children with complex mental health needs, and innovative hubs that provide intensive support to prevent children from entering care.
The role is a key leadership position working closely with the Home Manager to ensure smooth day‑to‑day running. Responsibilities include operational and direct care duties: overseeing individual care plans, monitoring health and educational outcomes, maintaining relationships with external professionals, attending reviews and multi‑agency meetings, contributing to wider service projects, initiatives, and staff development. Deputy Managers also collaborate with the broader management team across Children’s Residential Services, leading on development areas and supporting workforce training.
Our vision: children, young people and families are safe, healthy and able to achieve their full potential. Five key outcomes: safety and resilience; education and employment; healthy lifestyles; voice in shaping support; and quality of life in Lancashire.
