Service Manager
The Service Manager will oversee the operational running of the Eating Disorders (ED) services in line with the CNWL Strategy and the national agenda. The role involves working closely with staff, commissioning partners and senior management to ensure high‑quality, evidence‑based care for patients and families.
Main duties
- Operationally manage all staff within the ED service area, including professional, clinical and administrative personnel.
- Partner with clinical and team leads to provide appropriate professional support, oversight, and development opportunities for staff.
- Implement and maintain clinical and management systems that meet statutory and Trust performance requirements.
- Engage service users, carers, parents and diverse community organisations to develop and deliver culturally responsive services.
- Manage the service budget within available resources, delegating appropriately and taking remedial action when necessary.
- Provide sound advice and guidance to the Head of Service and participate as a member of the senior management team.
- Represent the service area at key forums and contribute to the Trust’s overall strategy for Eating Disorders.
- Lead and implement service changes to align with national and local CAMHS/Eating Disorders strategy and contract arrangements.
- Ensure quality governance, audit, and reporting against targets such as CQUIN and CIPs.
- Oversee recruitment, retention, training, safeguarding and professional development of all staff.
- Maintain health and safety, environmental health and protection standards at all service sites.
- Convene and lead clinical meetings and professional supervision sessions as required.
Person specification
Education
- Master’s Degree level or equivalent clinical qualification (e.g. Nursing, OT, Psychology).
- Recognised senior management training in Leadership, Policy and Strategy.
Experience
- Extensive senior clinical/managerial experience in Mental Health.
- Experience of budget management and operational financial control.
- Experience in clinical governance development and implementation.
- Experience of counselling or supervision.
- Experience of organising and chairing steering groups.
- Experience of policy development and strategic planning.
- Experience of partnership planning and inter‑agency working.
- Experience of working in Eating Disorders.

Salary
£75,328 to £86,114 per annum (pro‑rata, part‑time) inclusive of HCAS.
