Location: London
Job Description:

Senior FCA Compliance Officer – £75-85k + bonus – London/Hybrid

Middlemore are working on a retained basis with a boutique financial services firm in the heart of London. They’re seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to join its growing Compliance function. This is a standout opportunity for someone who wants breadth, visibility, and the chance to make a real impact in a business where compliance is genuinely valued.

You’ll be joining a close-knit, high-calibre team at an exciting point of transformation. As the function continues to broaden and integrate, this role offers real scope to shape how compliance operates across the business, while being trusted with meaningful responsibility from day one.

This is an excellent move for someone who wants more than a steady BAU role. You’ll be working across the full compliance cycle, with exposure to advisory work, monitoring, testing, regulatory reporting, risk assessment, and training – so there is plenty of variety, pace, and intellectual stretch. It’s the kind of environment where you can get involved, build your profile, and continue developing your career without getting siloed.

The role

You’ll provide practical FCA compliance support across the business, helping the firm navigate regulatory requirements confidently and commercially. The role will suit someone who enjoys switching between advisory work and hands-on execution, and who is comfortable working at pace in a business where priorities can change quickly.

You will also:

  • Monitor and interpret FCA developments and assess business impact.
  • Support ongoing monitoring, testing, and compliance assurance activity.
  • Contribute to regulatory reporting and horizon scanning.
  • Help maintain and improve compliance policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the firm to provide practical guidance and support.

About you

We’re looking for someone with strong FCA knowledge, a collaborative mindset, and the confidence to work independently while still being a true team player. Personality, judgement, and approach will matter just as much as technical knowledge.

You will ideally bring

  • FCA compliance experience within financial services.
  • Confidence working with FCA rules, handbook materials, and guidance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • The ability to balance urgency with sound judgement.
  • A genuine interest in learning, growing, and progressing your career.
  • International regulatory exposure, such as NFA or CFTC, would be a bonus, and commodities knowledge would also be useful, but neither is essential as this can be taught

Package

A competitive package is available, with a target range around £75,000 to £85,000+ depending on experience and overall fit. Excellent benefits package including PMI, bonus, share scheme etc.
