An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Superdrug Supply Chain team as a Transport Manager, based at our Southern Distribution Centre in Dunstable. The site plays a critical role in the network, picking and transporting stock to 1,033 stores through a combination of direct-to-store and trunking deliveries, supporting both Superdrug and Savers. The role is central to ensuring outstanding availability, service and cost efficiency across our retail estate.
You will join an established Transport Management team of four, collectively responsible for a 7‑day transport operation. With clear individual accountabilities and strong peer collaboration, the team delivers a resilient and well‑supported operation, underpinned by a wider transport management structure including a Transport Compliance Office (TCO) and Transport Team Leaders.
As Transport Manager, you will be accountable for the safe, compliant, resilient, and cost‑effective delivery of your defined area of the transport operation, covering outbound store deliveries, inter‑distribution centre trunking, and movements to third‑party hubs. You will hold joint responsibility for the effective management and compliance of a UK Operator’s Licence covering up to 100 motor vehicles and 150 trailers.
You will lead a mixed workforce of permanent and agency transport colleagues, driving high standards of service, safety, cost control, and continuous improvement. The role requires flexibility, including rota‑based weekend working, to support operational requirements and ensure business continuity.
