Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are recruiting for a Facilities Project Manager to join the Facilities and Estates Department and wider Project Management Team on a temporary basis for six months – available immediately (subject to satisfactory pre‑employment checks) or as soon as possible with a commencement in April 2026. The role is full‑time, working Monday to Friday and will be based across both sites at Ravelston and Queensferry Road. The salary range for this role is £48,219 to £50,714 and will be dependent on skills and experience. A degree of flexibility is required for this role.
The purpose of the role is to manage the project deliverables and accountabilities across the two sites in preparation for the School’s transition to fully coeducational. The role is responsible for managing all facilities work related to the project, budget control and communications with various internal and external stakeholders. Key tasks you will be responsible for include:
- Project planning and monitoring, ensuring project deliverables are completed on time, to budget and quality, flag and adjust timelines, resources and tasks as and when required and complete on‑site inspections to ensure the works are being completed to project specifications.
- Assist with the allocation of resources, including materials, labour resources and contractors to see that various project tasks are being completed.
- Assess project risks as and when required, working with the Head of Facilities and Interim & Compliance manager to mitigate these risks to ensure project tasks continue to be delivered as closely to the project plan as possible.
The successful candidate will have approximately three to five years of experience as a project manager or with project management experience. Experience within a building or renovation environment with multiple trades is desirable but not essential. You will be a highly engaging communicator with excellent collaboration skills with various stakeholders. You will be highly organised, with a strong attention to detail and have demonstrated experience in working in a large, fast‑paced environment, delivering works to tight deadlines whilst adapting to changes as and when they occur.
Eligibility
