We are looking for a Rehabilitation Specialist to help us build a healthier nation at our club. This role will deliver Nuffield Health Rehabilitation Programmes utilising the unique Nuffield Health pathway, championing the Charitable Purpose. You will undertake remote (digital) and in person facilitation of exercise, emotional wellbeing support, healthy eating, and goal setting to aid the participants’ recovery. The pathway will involve weekly 1to1s, group exercise classes (virtual and in person), promote goal setting and self‑directed activity.

You will demonstrate leadership and influencing skills, be a good communicator, organised and self‑motivated. The role requires collaboration onsite, centrally and with our Charity team and our beneficiaries. Excellent IT skills and a Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification are essential. Experience in a Rehabilitation Specialist position and knowledge of rehabilitation are desired. A BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Organise and run a series of rolling 12‑week rehabilitation programmes.
  • Facilitate and deliver both live stream and in‑person group exercise classes, accommodating varying degrees of ability and physical function.
  • Promote self‑directed activity using pre‑recorded on‑demand classes and a journal to aid participants in self‑managing their condition after the 12‑week programme.
  • Re‑calibrate exercises and intensities based on regular improvements demonstrated by changes in effort and performance.
  • Identify any deterioration of participants and, if necessary, follow internal escalation processes, ensuring reporting is processed within a specific timeframe and that outcome data is accurately captured.
  • Engage in weekly 1‑to‑1 telephone conversations with every participant to offer coaching in goal‑setting, monitoring progress, providing emotional wellbeing support, and empowering self‑directed activity.
