Business Development Manager – Far East & IPAC Trade (Freight Forwarding)

The Role
Our client is a growing international freight forwarder seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to focus on Far East trade lanes, with particular emphasis on India, Pakistan, and the wider APAC region. This role is suited to an established freight sales professional who can hit the ground running and bring an existing book of business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow new business across Far East and IPAC trade lanes, with a focus on India/Sri Lanka/Pakistan and Senegal African trade.
- Manage and expand an existing book of business
- Conduct cold calling, prospecting, and face-to-face client visits
- Prepare and negotiate freight quotations while protecting margin
- Build long-term relationships across sea freight clients
- Collaborate closely with operations and overseas offices to ensure service delivery
- Achieve revenue and margin targets sufficient to cover costs and drive profitability
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in freight forwarding sales or business development
- Strong knowledge of Far East / IPAC trade lanes (India & Pakistan essential)
- Established and transferable book of business
- Confident in cold calling and new business generation
- Commercially astute with strong margin awareness
- Driven, ambitious, and hungry for new business
- African trade exposure preferred, particularly West Africa
