North EastMuseums is a regional museum, art gallery and archives service. We manage twelve museums and galleries across North East England and the Archives for Tyne and Wear.
Role
We are seeking to recruit a Customer & Facilities Manager to support our 4 venues across North and South Tyneside, leading our Front of House teams.
Venues
Segedunum Roman Fort and Stephenson Steam Railway in North Tyneside; South Shields Museum & Art Gallery and Arbeia Roman Fort in South Shields.
Responsibilities
Support and lead high‑performing customer service teams across multiple sites, manage performance, and provide exceptional customer experience.
Ensure complex building operations meet varied business needs, satisfying customers, staff, and partners.
Work at different sites regularly in line with our agile working policy to meet business needs.
Provide support for evening, weekend, and emergency call‑outs as required.
Qualifications & Essential Criteria
Proven track record of leading a customer service team and managing performance.
Experience managing complex buildings and meeting business and customer needs.
Excellent people‑management, organisational, time‑management, and prioritisation skills.
Ability to communicate at ease with customers and provide accurate spoken English.
Flexible and multi‑skilled manager capable of operating across 4 sites on a weekly basis.
Additional Requirements
- Easily converse with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
- Will need to work evenings and weekends on occasion.
- Must support call‑outs and emergency situations out of hours.
- Work across 4 different sites on a weekly basis.
