At UWE Bristol, our Accommodation Services department provides a welcoming home to thousands of students and visitors each year. As Customer Services Team Leader, you’ll play a central role shaping the student experience through leading a team of Customer Service Assistants and Post Room staff, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring every student receives the highest standard of service and support. You’ll be involved in everything from welcoming new arrivals and supporting international students, to improving our post and parcel services and leading annual student surveys.

The role offers variety and responsibility: you’ll recruit and develop staff, manage rotas and workloads, resolve queries and complaints, and collaborate with colleagues across the University. You’ll also help drive sustainability initiatives and contribute to the development of new communications and services. About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and that will thrive in a busy, people‑focused environment. You will have experience supervising, managing and motivating teams, recruiting and developing staff, and communicating clearly and empathically with colleagues and customers.

Your organisational skills enable you to manage rotas, workloads, and deadlines, while your proactive approach helps you resolve problems and improve processes. A key element will be to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across Accommodation Services and other departments to ensure the best possible experience for our students.

An interest or experience of using technology or higher‑level IT skills in a customer‑facing setting would be an advantage.

Where you will be working

UWE Bristol is a campus‑based University, with vibrant campus communities that are central to student life. Accommodation Services operate accommodation across various accommodation locations, the Frenchay Campus will be your primary base, however there may be an expectation to travel to other campuses and accommodation sites regularly.

This role is based on site for all your time.

Interviews

Interviews are scheduled to take place at our Frenchay Campus on week commencing 30March 2026.

Employment Details

This is a part‑time, fixed‑term post, working 30 hours per week – Tuesday to Saturday. 6 hours per day, typically 13:00 – 19:00 to be discussed. Salary includes an enhancement for hours worked on a Saturday of time and a half. Therefore the starting salary will be approximately £27,780. This role is expected to last until 31st October 2027. This post is not available on a job share basis.

Salary offers are made in line with the University’s salary assessment guidelines, reflecting your relevant skills and experience in parity with colleagues.
