Job Title: Assistant Town Planner
Location: Essex / Hertfordshire Borders (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £28,000 – £36,000 + Excellent Benefits + Career Progression
Are you a motivated and ambitious Assistant Town Planner looking to take the next step in your career with a leading name in residential development?
We’re working exclusively with a prestigious and well-established residential developer that’s expanding its in-house planning team. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, they’re looking to appoint an Assistant Town Planner to support the planning and delivery of high-quality residential schemes across the South East and East of England.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications for residential developments
- Conduct site appraisals and planning research
- Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and internal teams
- Support planning appeals and community consultations
- Monitor local plans, planning policy changes, and development opportunities
About You
- A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited)
- Working towards (or recently achieved) MRTPI status
- 1-2 years’ experience in planning, ideally within a consultancy, local authority, or developer
- Strong report writing, communication, and organisational skills
- A proactive attitude and a genuine passion for residential development
