Quantity Surveyor

Job Type: Full-time, permanent – Norwich, Norfolk.

Salary: Salary range based on experience. Competitive salary.

As a Quantity Surveyor you will work within a fast‑paced construction client environment in Norwich. The role involves managing commercial aspects of projects, ensuring profitability and compliance with contractual and corporate policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance, support and guidance on all commercial issues within projects.
  • Review commercial plans to deliver maximum margin procedures.
  • Manage the monthly commercial audit process.
  • Ensure the subcontracting process is administered correctly to protect the company’s interests.
  • Create and submit reports ensuring compliance with company processes.
  • Manage and review cost-to-complete forecasts, valuation and cash collection.
  • Submit Applications for Payments on time and maximise them accordingly.
  • Issue Supplier/Sub‑Contractor certifications for payment on time, reflecting any required notices.
  • Process variation events including timely submission with cost information.
  • Ensure full compliance with company commercial procedures.
  • Timely final accounting to maximise margin.

Key Skills & Knowledge

  • A flexible and disciplined approach to tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Team‑player with understanding of day‑to‑day commercial matters and administrative duties.
  • Ideally qualified, or equivalent experience in development and implementation of business procedures.
  • Construction work experience and knowledge of a wide range of contract conditions.
  • Strong contractual experience, including JCT Traditional Forms of Contract, JCT Design & Build Contracts, NEC suite of contracts.
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of relevant software.
  • Problem‑solving skills and excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Effective communication with all levels of personnel.
