Quantity Surveyor
West Midlands (Birmingham, Derby, Coventry or Tamworth) • Up to £65,000
We are seeking a motivated and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our infrastructure delivery team. Working across major capital programmes in the water, environment, and civil infrastructure sectors, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial management of projects from early-stage feasibility through to final account.
This is an excellent opportunity for a developing QS to build on their technical foundations, gain exposure to complex NEC-based contracts, and progress toward professional chartership within a structured and supportive team.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Essential
- Degree (BSc or MSc) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Working toward RICS, ICES, or CIOB membership (APC pathway)
- Understanding of NEC3/4 contract forms
- Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills
- Valid CSCS card and right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience in water, environment, or civil infrastructure sectors
- Familiarity with CDM regulations and risk management principles
- Ability to work on-site a minimum of 3 days per week
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support contract administration of NEC3/4 ECC contracts throughout the project lifecycle
- Assist with budget control, cost forecasting, and payment valuations
- Maintain accurate commercial records and contribute to the resolution of contractual matters
- Help prepare and evaluate tender documentation, including subcontract invitations to tender
- Contribute to risk identification and the development of mitigation strategies
- Liaise with the Project Manager and Commercial Manager on all commercial aspects of the project
- Support final account preparation and post-project review
- Build effective working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the wider project team
