Overview
My Client is recruiting for a Project Manager in the Water Sector. Location: Chichester (covering Hampshire and West Sussex). Hybrid working available and can be split between Site, Office and Home.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Operations Manager, manage onsite project work including site surveys, technical specification, quoting, delivery and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with onsite health and safety requirements to meet quality (ISO 9001), environment (ISO 14001) and health & safety (ISO 45001) policies and procedures.
- Attend site and liaise with clients to survey new and existing enquiries and jobs.
- Interpret client requirements during surveys and build a detailed site survey specification, including taking photographs.
- Enter all site survey information, including photos, into the company job costing system for transparency across the business.
- Liaise with suppliers and specialist sub-contractors to produce pricing for the job/project, including man hours, and create/issue a detailed scope and pricing document for tendering.
- Upon client award, procure materials and liaise with specialist sub-contractors by requesting POs to be raised by the Planning Co-ordinator/Administrator.
- Compile and issue job/project-specific RAMS and any client health and safety paperwork.
- Attend necessary onsite client meetings prior to or during site work.
- Kick start the job/project with the site team where required.
- Project manage the job, ensuring the site team follows RAMS and adheres to company and client onsite policies/procedures.
- Ensure all specialist sub-contractors issue and comply with their RAMS.
- Where necessary, assist with onsite commissioning and, if required, prepare QA packs or commissioning documents.
- During workshop activities, coordinate with the Operations Manager to oversee workshop work per the specification and pricing model for each job/project.
Experience and Qualifications
- Ideally an Engineering qualification (Degree/HND/HNC or similar) in Mechanical, Process Engineering or related field and a Project Management qualification.
- Experience in the Water Sector.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience of, or good understanding of, onsite health and safety rules and regulations.
- Confined space trained or a good understanding of confined spaces — training can be provided.
- Watery Hygiene trained or a good understanding of sewerage/clean water hygiene — training can be provided.
- An engineering background, with Water Utilities and/or Power Industry experience.
- An excellent communicator for both client meetings and site team instructions.
- Good organisational skills with a strong ability to multi-task.
