Customer Service Officer

£30,000 – £35,000 DOE

We have an opportunity for a Customer Service Officer to join our team working at Gallagher Quarry in Maidstone. This role plays a key part in supporting customer engagement across our works, helping to ensure clear communication, effective issue resolution, and a positive experience for residents and stakeholders.

With an increase in workload, you’ll provide essential customer liaison support, managing enquiries, handling concerns, and carrying out upfront communication for upcoming schemes to help minimise disruption.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in

  • Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email, providing clear and timely updates
  • Acting as a key point of contact for customers, keeping them informed on the progress of works
  • Managing and resolving customer concerns with professionalism and empathy
  • Supporting customer consultation activities ahead of planned works
  • Maintaining accurate records of all customer interactions on internal systems
  • Monitoring and updating ongoing communications to ensure customers remain informed
  • Collecting and reviewing data on customer enquiries and feedback
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure consistent and accurate messaging

We would love to hear from you if

You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to engage with customers and manage a range of enquiries. You are a good listener, able to handle conversations calmly and effectively, particularly when dealing with challenging situations.

You will be organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy. A proactive approach and strong problem-solving skills will help you resolve issues efficiently and maintain a positive customer experience.

You should be confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, and comfortable working with data and internal systems. An understanding of Streetworks permitting or experience within a utilities or construction environment would be beneficial.
