About The Position

Spreadex is seeking a Graduate Internal Audit Analyst to support compliance with the Gambling Commission and FCA regulations. The role focuses on routine monitoring and testing of internal controls. This position offers a hybrid working model (office-based and remote) at our St Albans office.

The Graduate Internal Audit Analyst provides key support by undertaking detailed ongoing monitoring and testing of internal controls and processes, ensuring alignment with policies and regulatory standards, and delivering clear, actionable insights to the Internal Audit Manager when inconsistencies are found.

Our office is in St Albans, Hertfordshire with easy access from London and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Internal Control Support
  • Gain a detailed understanding of key internal controls and processes within Spreadex’s support departments.
  • Test internal controls and processes to ensure they function as described in official policy documents.
  • Identify and flag discrepancies between actual practice and documented policy and procedures to the Internal Audit Manager.
  • Update process or procedure descriptions on wiki pages to reflect current practice as directed.
  • Ongoing Monitoring
  • Perform frequent dip-sampling of internal controls and processes to confirm alignment with internal policy documents and defined processes.
  • Collate and prepare audit work documentation evidencing findings in a clear and accurate format.
  • Provide feedback to the Internal Audit Manager on inconsistencies or potential improvements.
  • Internal Policy and Process Documentation Update Assistance
  • Assist in reviewing internal policies and procedures, highlighting sections that may require updates due to internal or regulatory changes.
  • Highlight areas where changes may be needed to align with latest rules or guidance.
  • Assist with drafting initial copy for potential amendments and improvements where required.
  • Regulatory Reporting
  • Assist in the preparation and review of regulatory reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
