Are you an experienced Mechanical Building Services Manager looking to take the lead on a flagship life sciences development? We are seeking a high‑calibre professional to join a major £18m MEP complex project within a large‑scale life science park, delivering cutting‑edge facilities in a technically demanding environment.
The Role
As the Senior Mechanical BSM, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a complex, high‑specification project. Working within a commercial office environment, you will oversee all mechanical aspects from pre‑construction through to commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all mechanical building services activities on site
- Coordinate MEP design, installation, and commissioning phases
- Drive programme delivery while maintaining quality and compliance
- Manage subcontractors, ensuring performance and safety standards
- Collaborate with project stakeholders including consultants and client teams
- Oversee budgets, procurement, and value engineering opportunities
- Ensure full compliance with UK building regulations and industry standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical BSM or Senior Mechanical Manager
- Strong background delivering complex MEP packages (ideally £10m+)
- Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or high‑spec environments preferred
- Excellent commercial awareness and project delivery skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
