Business Development Manager – Plymouth

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Business Development Manager to join a well-established Main Dealership group servicing Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall.   • Basic salary of up to £30,000, dependent on experience
  • Realistic OTE exceeding £52,000
  • Monday to Friday working hours (8:00am – 6:00pm)
  • 1-in-4 Saturdays (8:30am – 1:00pm) on a rota basis

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for managing all finance and insurance products in line with company policies, collaborating with marketing to ensure vehicle details, specifications, and pricing are accurate and current, and building strong relationships with customers and partners.

The Business Development Manager will offer expert advice on vehicle specifications, perform evaluations on used vans, and oversee the entire sales process from initial contact to vehicle delivery. Maintaining an organised contact management system and monitoring customer satisfaction are important aspects of the role.

Duties

  • Manage finance and insurance products in compliance with company policies, manufacturer standards, and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure vehicle details, specifications, and pricing are accurate and up to date.
  • Develop and sustain strong relationships with customers and business partners.
  • Offer expert advice on vehicle specifications, pricing, and technical data.
  • Perform evaluations and technical assessments on used vans and part‑exchange vehicles.
  • Oversee the entire sales process from lead generation to vehicle handover.
  • Maintain an organised contact management system to maximise lead conversion.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with customers, colleagues, and management.

Requirements

  • Proven enthusiasm and passion for automotive sales.
  • Strong motivation, excellent communication skills, and well‑spoken manner.
  • In‑depth product knowledge; prior sales training is advantageous.
  • Previous experience within this position is essential.
  • Track record of exceeding customer expectations.
  • Solid understanding of finance products and solutions.
  • Ability to build lasting relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.
