Job Introduction
Are you a Road Surfacing Team Leader seeking a fresh challenge? Are you based in the North West region? Would you like the opportunity to ensure quality work and health and safety is a priority in your own crew?
We are currently looking for a Surfacing Team Leader to join our friendly North West and North Wales team based out of Agecroft, Salford covering the North West of England and North Wales. We have gangs based in Ruthin, Merseyside, Wigan and Greater Manchester. This role is for our gang based in Manchester.
Main Responsibilities
- Adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
- Delivery of the start of shift briefings including the vehicle and pedestrian management plan.
- Ensure all sub-contractors on site are authorised, required permits are issued and plant check lists completed
- Ensure all plant and equipment is inspected and maintained by operators, and used safely in accordance with on‑site rules and company procedures
- Liaise with the Client Representative and Site Supervisor to agree on the best way to safely undertake the works required, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction
- Ensure the specification is complied with and produce site records such as levels, kerb checks, materials checks, monitoring of paving, rolling and density and site vacation checks
- Completion of daily time sheets and BPO report
- Manage your operatives including holiday and absence management
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in machine lay asphalt works and knowledge of all aspects of the surfacing operation
- Experience of working with and overseeing operations of teams
- Experience of operating surfacing equipment
- Flexible in working approach
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Motivated and able to work within set timeframes and achieve agreed production targets
- Good communication skills and able to liaise with stakeholders of varying seniority levels
- Compliant with Health and Safety policies and procedures and proactive in encouraging the team to do the same
- Basic computer / I.T. literacy
