How you’ll make a difference

As a Commissioning Officer, you will be joining the Partnerships and Commissioning Service as part of the Relationship team. You will focus on the delivery of our county wide reablement service, in partnership with our internal Reablement Assessment team and external providers.

Being an ambitious and collaborative commissioner, you will oversee contracts and contract management, ensuring contracts are identified for recommissioning or renegotiation in a timely manner.  

What you will be doing

  • To support in shaping a cohesive and sustainable local market, you will build strong relationships with system partners, VCSE organisations, providers and communities.
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement, you will embed strengths-based and outcome-focused approaches.
  • It will be your responsibility to identify breaches in contracts and work alongside your line manager to resolve, including collaboratively developing and monitoring action plans for improvement.
  • It will be your responsibility to support the development of commissioning plans, strategies, protocols and service redesign.
  • You will help the team to influence market shaping activities and drive positive change to our residents.

What we need from you

  • We require you to have at least 3 years’ experience working within social care, it would be desirable if you had experience of commissioning and/or quality assurance.
  • You will have proven experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships with a range of stakeholders to support innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Given the elements of this role, you will be collaborative, transparent and inclusive in your working style with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • It is essential that you have strong organisational, time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities to meet deadlines.  

What you need to know

  • This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at home, and the office plus other locations.
