The Role
- A leading UK engineering consultancy is hiring a Principal Mechanical Engineer for their Birmingham office
- They will deliver mechanical building services designs across a range of complex projects
- The role combines technical leadership, client engagement, and team development
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver mechanical designs across varied project scales
- Act as the main client point of contact, building strong, long‑term relationships
- Take ownership of project briefs, ensuring quality, profitability, and timely delivery
- Coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams and manage internal resources
- Monitor project budgets and report on cost and resourcing
- Support bids and promote the consultancy’s full service offering
- Mentor engineers and support team development
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer within consultancy
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services systems
- Experience working in multi‑disciplinary xwzovoh environments
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and relevant design tools
- Solid understanding of British Standards and UK regulations
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
