JobDescription:

You will play a keyrole in leadingprocurement and contracting activities across construction andinfrastructure projects forming part of a long-term, 10-yearinvestment programme.

Working closely withinternal stakeholders including engineering, SHE, quality and project teams,you will lead thedevelopment and implementation of procurement approaches acrossdefined work packages, balancing cost, risk, programme requirementsand buildability, while driving value through the supplychain.

You will lead procurement activitiesincluding tendering, commercial evaluation and supplier engagement,supporting successful delivery of construction packages andensuring strongcommercial outcomes.

Coreduties:

  • Develop anddeliver procurement strategies for construction and infrastructureworks, including civils, building and associatedpackages
  • Lead end-to-end procurement ofconstruction packages, including market engagement, tendering, bidevaluation, commercial negotiation and contract award
  • Work alongside project and engineering teams to alignprocurement activities with programme milestones, cost plans anddelivery priorities
  • Lead supplier and contractornegotiations to achieve best value and robust commercialoutcomes
  • Support the selection of appropriatecontract forms and commercial arrangements (e.g. NEC orsimilar)
  • Ensure cost, risk and programmeconsiderations are fully integrated into procurement decisions
  • Identify and manage supply chain risks,ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place
  • Support ongoing supplier performance and ensure deliveryagainst agreed cost, quality and programme expectations

EssentialSkills:

  • Experience inprocurement, commercial or supply chain roles within construction,infrastructure or major projects
  • Understandingof cost, commercial management and procurementprocesses in a project environment
  • Experienceworking with contractors and suppliers across construction orinfrastructure delivery
  • Familiarity withstandard forms of construction contract such as NEC, JCT orequivalent
  • Ability to manage tender processes,evaluate bids and support contract negotiations
  • Strongstakeholder managementand communication skills
