Overview

LEC Robotics is developing a commercial platform for the deployment of advanced automation and robotics solutions across the United Kingdom, Europe, and international markets.

We are seeking a high-calibre Sales & Commercial Director to lead enterprise-level sales activity and commercial development. This role is focused on securing and managing relationships with large corporate organisations and driving the adoption of robotics and automation solutions at scale.

The position sits within the commercial function and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Role Purpose

The Sales & Commercial Director will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the acquisition and development of major corporate accounts.

The role requires an individual capable of operating at senior levels within large organisations, leading commercial discussions, and converting opportunities into implemented solutions.

This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring both direct sales engagement and the ability to build and lead a high-performing commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead the development and execution of the commercial strategy for LEC Robotics
  • Establish and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across target organisations
  • Identify and secure opportunities for large-scale deployment of solutions
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle from initial engagement through to contract completion
  • Work closely with internal operational and technical teams to ensure alignment between client requirements and delivery
  • Contribute to the positioning of LEC Robotics within key markets
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of commercial opportunities
  • Support the development of strategic partnerships to enhance market access

In addition, the role will require:

  • Active, hands-on involvement in sales activity, including direct engagement with key prospects
  • Oversight and conversion of inbound and internally generated leads
  • Building and structuring a commercial team capable of managing and closing opportunities effectively
  • Leading by example in deal execution, demonstrating best practice in client engagement and closing
  • Ensuring that commercial processes are practical, efficient, and focused on delivering outcomes

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in enterprise sales or commercial leadership roles, with a proven ability to engage and transact with large organisations.

They will demonstrate:

  • A strong track record of securing and managing relationships with corporate clients
  • The ability to negotiate and close complex commercial agreements
  • Experience operating in fast-moving and evolving business environments
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders, including C-level executives
  • A well-established professional network relevant to target sectors

Direct experience in robotics or automation is not required. The emphasis is on commercial capability and the ability to drive adoption of new solutions.
