GTS are partnering with a leading Formula One team to find an experienced Mechanical Inspector for a 6-month fixed-term contract based in the heart of Motorsport Valley, Northamptonshire.

Salary: Circa £52,000
Location: Motorsport Valley, Northamptonshire
Hours: Monday – Friday | 08:30 – 17:30 (Day Shift)
Contract: Fixed Term – Full Time (6 months)
The Opportunity
You’ll be joining the Quality Assurance department of one of the world’s most recognised Formula One teams, ensuring the precision and quality of internally manufactured machined components and assemblies. This is a hands-on, technically demanding role where your attention to detail will directly impact on-track performance.
What You’ll Be Doing
✅ Inspecting and verifying internally and externally manufactured metallic components to exacting standards
✅ Operating advanced metrology equipment including CMMs, Absolute Arms, Shadowgraphs and Contour Tracers
✅ Working with Pc-DMIS and PolyWorks Metrology Suites
✅ Collaborating with Quality Assurance, Production Control, and the Machine Shop
✅ Interpreting technical drawings and working from detailed engineering specifications
✅ Supporting continuous improvement across quality systems and inspection processes
What We’re Looking For
Strong knowledge of machining processes and manufacturing methods
Proficiency in Pc-DMIS and PolyWorks
Hands-on CMM and precision measurement experience
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings confidently
Experience with MRP/ERP systems (IFS, SAP or similar)
Previous Formula One or high-level motorsport experience highly desirable
Calm under pressure with strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
