About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to drive performance across a defined territory, promoting specialist products to medical practitioners and allied healthcare professionals within hospitals and Mental Health Networks. This is a field‑based role focused on achieving sales targets, strengthening key accounts, and delivering excellent customer engagement through both face‑to‑face and digital channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve agreed sales, productivity, and performance targets within budget and timelines
- Develop and execute robust territory business plans, including customer events, sales presentations, and marketing campaigns
- Provide key account and hospital network support, including market access and referral pathway development
- Build strong relationships across hospital antimicrobial teams and within Mental Health environments
- Maintain high levels of product, disease area, and market knowledge, including competitor awareness
- Deliver agreed contact, coverage, and frequency targets using omni‑channel engagement
- Ensure outstanding customer satisfaction and long‑term relationship development
- Collaborate effectively with Sales, Marketing, and cross‑functional teams to meet shared objectives
- Contribute to sales forecasting and effective use of promotional budgets
- Lead aligned omni‑channel execution to maximise share of voice within target audiences
- Feed field insights into brand and strategy teams to support continuous development
- Ensure all activities are compliant with regulatory, medical, legal (MLR), and ABPI standards
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative, ideally in secondary care
- Specialist knowledge in Microbiology and/or Mental Health is highly desirable
- Demonstrated success managing large hospitals and complex key accounts
- Strong communication, influencing, and selling skills
- Excellent planning, organisation, and analytical ability
- Highly self‑motivated, results‑driven, and resilient
- Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills
- Customer‑centric with a patient‑focused mindset
- Collaborative team player with experience working cross‑functionally and engaging KOLs
Additional Requirements
- Must live within territory with easy access to key hospital centres
- Full UK driving licence required
